About Therapy
Feeling seen, heard, and understood is healing.
When we do not feel seen for who we are, we can lose sight of ourselves and what makes us unique.
When we don’t feel accepted, we can feel disconnected, depressed, or disillusioned with life. If left unaddressed, this can become a nagging emptiness and unsuccessful attempts to avoid the feeling. Life can feel like a chore under the fog of this mental struggle.
We support you in unlearning how you’ve deprioritized your needs, reconnecting with who you are, identifying what matters in your life, and creating the foundation for a life you enjoy.
Sitting with me will feel like an exercise in unlearning how you’ve silenced your internal voice and begin to feel empowered toward change.
Healing is for Truth-Speakers, Cycle-Breakers, & “Black Sheep.”
We’re a mental health therapy and education center guided by Liberation Psychology, Decolonial Healing, and Recovery-Oriented Wellness. In other words: We don’t believe healing is about “fixing” people.
We believe it’s about remembering who you were before the world told you to shrink. We work with folks who’ve been excluded, misdiagnosed, or made to feel like the problem.
Our approach is especially suitable for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, children of immigrants, and spiritually gifted or intuitive people – our work centers on the sacred, personal, political, and ancestral.
Healing was never just about the individual but also about the systems we’re healing from and the communities we’re dealing with.

Meet Dr. Madeline Ofina (she/her/hers)
MOfina Psychological Services, Inc.

My approach is inclusive.
As an individual born to immigrants from the Philippines and Mexico, I grew up between cultures, carrying stories that didn’t fit neatly into textbooks or therapy rooms. Even after earning my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, something didn’t sit right. The tools I was taught felt too clinical and disconnected from the lived experience of people.
So, I stepped away from the hospital systems and turned toward her ancestors and indigenous knowledge. I learned from Q’ero elders in Perú and continue to learn from elders in the community. I also joined communities focused on decolonizing the mind and healing through culture, story, and spirit.
Today, I serve as an inclusive therapist for all folx centering BIPOC individuals, children of immigrants, and folks navigating perfectionism, burnout, and spiritual awakenings. My approach blends clinical training with lived experience, Indigenous wisdom, and spiritual development for your whole, complex, sacred self.
I am not here to “fix” you. I am here to honor you, witness you, and walk beside you.
Our Mission
We are here to change the way mental health is seen, spoken about, and supported, especially in our communities. We’re not here to reject Western psychology, but to challenge it and rebuild care around the people it often leaves behind.
We are committed to Decentering Western Psychology and addressing the harm it has caused marginalized communities; uplifting Indigenous wisdom and ways of knowing that have always spoken truth; liberating mental health from stigma, pathology, and linear “fix-it” models; supporting recovery through connection, empowerment, and identity reclamation; prioritizing quality of life over symptom management; welcoming intuitive states and spiritual development as part of the healing process; and building community because healing was never meant to be done alone.
